FROM MIKE MURPHY GUITARIST FOR CODY PREVOST and for MAGNUM: Dear Doug, To say that I am totally happy with my new Rokdog amp would be an understatement of huge proportion. The first thing I noticed about the amp when I plugged into it and struck a chord was how well focused it is. Every note of the chord you can hear distinctly. And evenly. And super quiet also(bonus points).Even running the amp at a lower volume is no problem as with a little tone adjustment it sounds full and fat at comfortable home listening levels. Most amps suck at lower volumes. Not yours. Bonus points again. But of course where it shines the most as all great amps should (but often don't) is when you get this baby on stage. It can keep up with anyone I've played with. It never gets lost in the mix or on stage. It has the best definition I've ever heard for lead playing. I'm not just talking sheer volume (it's got that too if I need it) but frequency-wise. It has great separation from the other instruments and vocals. And the tone is unreal !! I have never had so many compliments in my life on my tone from fellow guitarists (whom of course are the most critical and hard to please) and other instrument players and vocalists also, as I have with your amp Doug. I always get asked "what is that yer playin' thru?" I play a Tele a lot and of course they are the hardest axe to tame. Usually you have to cut the highs and mids a lot and in the process lose that twang but with this amp there is a certain magic that allows you to retain all the characteristics of the guitar .I'll repeat that...This amp is magical. Teles need bottom end also and that is no problem with this amp as the bottom end stays tight. Not wimpy. I have always been a blackface circuit lover. It is called the holy grail among many. Well you my friend have taken that idea and improved it to a whole new level. Gone is the flubbiness we usually get. The bottom end is very focused and for tele this is very important. And this amp has a single 12'” Jensen Neo (what a wicked speaker. I'm a believer.) Now before I go any further I will tell you I have also gigged with this amp with a Reverend Gil Paris with humbuckers and a Reverend Charger 390 with P-90's. It'll just scream and howl !! The harmonics just jump out. I can make notes feedback at will and just keep on screamin'. This amp takes anything I throw at it in terms of pickup selection or guitars. I can play any style with it: country, jazzy type stuff, rock and roll classic rock, southern rock, blues, I can't think of anything it doesn't do. And the more I turn it up, the bigger the grin I get. It loves pedals. Any pedal.I use a variety sparingly. I have tried amps that sounded fairly decent but didn't like pedals. Yes...there is such a thing ...I know you are probably well aware of that fact but I think a lot of players may not know this. This amp is a TONE MONSTER.. That's what a keyboard player I did a gig with not long ago coined it as A TONE MONSTER. The knobs do what they are supposed to. Not adding a bunch of scooped garbage into my signal or unmusical frequencies. They actually work and I don't have to dime them to hear the changes(man, more bonus points) This amp is old school all the way. If someone can't dial their guitar tone in with this amp I know a great ear specialist. Honestly, you can plug anything musical with a pickup into this baby and ROK !! If my Betty Crocker toaster had a pickup in it I bet I could strum the heating elements and it would sound great ..ha! It does glassy, woody, punchy cleans and when driven does a beautiful blooming snarl. Bold and ballsy!!! Heavenly! To me it is like no amp I have ever used. I have tried alot of stuff thru the years, Fender, Lab Series(Gibson), Peavey, Mesa-Boogie, Vox,Marshall, and yes Dr.Z. That was the next amp on my list but not anymore. I was considering a Maz-38 Senior 2-12.Your Rokdog amp has all the quality features I wanted in an amp. Handwired, top quality parts, and all done from a guy who truely loves what he's doing and puts customer support and feedback top of his list. This amp is like a souped up Deluxe on steroids with Twin- type power, Vox chime, Marshall growl. Even the tremolo and reverb is as good as it gets. It's not as heavy or bulky as a Twin either. Just the right size for any gig. It also records beautifully .. This amp thumps. When drummers start giving me compliments on my tone, you gotta be doin' sumthin' right my friend. Thanx for the best amp I've ever owned or played through.. I look forward to using more of your products in the future...Guitaringly, Mike Murphy

Hi Doug,
What can I say.....the amp sounds totally musical, and has "BALLS" to burn. It is impossible to get a bad sound out of it. After testing it myself, and having a couple of players who are tone junkies test the amp. You have pinned it down, Doug.
The two players I'm referring to are Pat Whelan, and Geoff Gay. They were in the shop last evening and they both loved the tone and power...and they made wonderful comments about the appearance of the amp. Both are friends of Kyle Riabko, and they had already heard great things about your amps from Kyle's gig last Sunday. You are certainly on the right track with the tones you are creating. The look is also very right. From my point of view, you have created tones that are rich, clear, and balanced. These are serious amps for serious players.
I imagine you need the amp back for demo purposes. I'm glad that I had it by myself, because I was able to listen to the tones ranging from delicate and subtle, to balls to the wall. What we all noticed was how perfectly it holds together at low volume. Many amps lose their juiciness at near zero levels. Once I get the summer wood production out of the way, I would like to spend time alone with your other models to get familiar with the character of each model. I'm anxious to see you succeed with your venture.
Keep doin' what you're doin', Doug.
